Avoiding Winter Floor Damage

This time of year is filled with salt and gravel on walkways and roads, which ends up in our garages. This inevitably ends up being tracked inside by our shoes, leading to the possibility of damage on scratch-prone floors.

Our cleaning services have two different vacuums brought into the home, to ensure each floor is cleared of dust and debris to the best possible level. However, with one or two week cleaning intervals, there is an opportunity for this debris to build up.

Here are a couple of quick tips for in between cleanings:

  • Always remove your shoes at the entryway,
  • Always keep a vacuum nearby, and touch up the area where debris is evident.

These may seem like small details, but a scratch on a hardwood floor can end up quite a headache, and one that is easily avoidable with a little care.
